WHY WE LOVE WINTER #5
WHY WE LOVE WINTER IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC #5:
The Sun doesn't heat our apartment to 90 degrees nor does it shine in our house for hours. See, in the summer, we see the sun all the time. Though we love the sun, it tends to be very HOT in an non-air conditioned apartment during the summer months. Our apartment is also situated in such a way that the sun sets across the front of the building, right into our house for hours, rising the temperature in the apartment along the way.
In the winter there is only about 4 hours of daylight, if we see the sun at all, so we don't have any problems with blinding eyes or it being too hot in our apartment. The sun is a rare thing this time of year, so we do love it in the summer, however it gets old after 8 hours of shinning into our house, with no cross breeze and place to escape.
Our beautiful sunset from our balcony.

In other news, Wes had a hockey game last night and Sid and I were able to go for the first time. I haven't been to a game in about 2 years, so it was fun to watch him play. They are an official team now and play twice a week. Unfortunately, the team decided to not "show up and play" last night. They lost 3 to 9. So maybe next time they'll win for us!
